Lt. Governor-elect Dan Patrick recently announced the members of his Lieutenant Governor Advisory Boards which will be put in place to find policy solutions on economic tax and transportation issues. Trace Burton was selected as one of the San Antonio Business Journal's 40 Under 40 winners. The San Antonio Business Journal announced the 2015 winners of the 40 Under 40 special awards publication, which will honor 40 outstanding individuals under the age of 40 who are making a difference in the San Antonio community. A select panel of judges consisting of past 40 Under 40 award recipients chose the 2015 winners from more than 110 nominees. Joseph Fitzsimons was quoted in an article titled, "Minerals Trump Surface Rights" in the Sunday, July 20, 2014 edition of the San Antonio Express News.  The article highlights the results of a recent ruling by the Texas Supreme Court in the Key Operating & Equipment v. Hegar case and discusses its impact on the surface owner.  Fitzsimons commented that even as one of the largest producing states, Texas does not have a surface damage requirement.  Most oil and gas companies offer damages to surface owners in order to keep the surface owner happy.
