The law firm of Uhl, Fitzsimons, Jewett & Burton, PLLC, is pleased to announce that Ezra A. Johnson has been named as a partner of the firm.  Mr. Johnson, previously an associate of the firm, will continue to assist clients in matters relating to landowner rights and the development, marketing and sale of mineral assets in South Texas (and beyond), including mineral leases, surface use agreements, deeds, pooling agreements, pipeline agreements, disposal agreements, and sales agreements.  Mr. Johnson will also continue to work with partners Joseph Fitzsimons and Trace Burton to develop the firm’s burgeoning litigation practice in mineral title…
Joseph B.C. Fitzsimons was interviewed for an article in March 2014 issue of The Cattleman on the topic of "Surface Use Agreements".  "A carefully drafted SUA can protect the surface owners' rights while allowing for exploration and drilling.  A well drafted SUA will add value to the surface estate and may provide for penalties against an oil company in cases of non-compliance," stated Fitzsimons.
